Hydration, hydration, hydration: We all know that drinking enough water throughout the day (especially in this August heat) is extremely important, but is it possible to drink too much water? YES! Some of us drink water constantly to trick our bodies into thinking it’s not hungry and the rest of us drink H2O because we want to avoid dehydration. The truth is too much water can lead to water intoxication; this is a condition that dilutes the concentration of sodium and other electrolytes in your blood. Symptoms are anywhere from dizziness and confusion to sometimes seizures and cardiac issues. If you are booking it to the restroom every half hour you might want to consider just drinking water with meals, when working out, and of course when you’re thirsty.
Workout-holic: Working out is obviously a healthy choice and beneficial in many ways. It can also cause injuries due to overuse such as muscle strains and stress fracture. The important thing is to listen to your body and know when your body needs some R and R.
Oh Shoot I Over slept: Sleep is essential to the recovery process for our bodies, but too much sleep (10 to 12 hours) on a consistent basis can be a tale tell sign of depression or it could be an indicator to an underlying medical issue such as heart disease or diabetes.
I know it sounds very cliché, but everything should be in moderation.
