Christmas day 15 rows from the floor Lakers vs. Knicks during an amazing game at the end of the quarter I look up and see this guy with a shirt on that says ” WHEN YOU WANNA SUCCEED AS BAD AS YOU WANNA BREATHE” facing me something clicks…
I had that same quote on my phone background from about 2 months straight and looked at it and read it probably 700 times, then it hits me…It’s Eric Thomas! Most of you don’t know him but he’s a HUGE inspiration to me and I’ve watched his videos and listened to his stuff over 100 times and I start some of my days listening to him to fire me up for the day. If you don’t know him you should follow him, he’s extremely passionate about what he does and he definitely is motivating and real, no fluff!
Here’s the best part… I asked him for a picture and tell him I love his stuff and have been following him for years, sure enough he took a picture with me and kept moving on. On his way back down, he taps on my shoulder and says “Hey bro, let me give you my phone number can you please text me that picture of us I’d like to have it. Thank you for the support, I appreciate you.” I was stunned! Eric Thomas who people hire to speak at huge events, Universities, pro sports teams for personal development and works with a lot of high profile people all over the world just gave some random guy who is just another average person his number and thanked him for the support and appreciated it. Made my day! He was genuine, nowadays that’s rare.
I know most of you don’t care and are asking why did I share that but I had to share because it meant a lot to me. It made me realize to always stay passionate, work hard, always be positive and genuine because you never know who’s following you, looks up to you and you’re an inspiration to. It made me want to be like him…inspire, motivate and touch others lives by living with passion and a purpose. That’s my goal in 2013 and on.
Enough with my rambling…Here’s a short clip from him but below it is my favorite clip ever. It’s long but worth every minute, I’ve listened to that countless times and I won’t ever stop. I think it would be a good way to start your year by putting 15 minutes aside to watch it.
Enjoy…HAPPY NEW YEAR!
HERE IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE. IF YOU NEVER WATCH ANYTHING AGAIN PLEASE JUST WATCH THIS!
