Here are some tips that can help you stay on track with your fitness goals as well as make you even more awesome than you already are! Check them out.
Educate yourself: if you have no idea what eating healthy requires then you need to do some research. There is a lot of information that contradicts each, but start with the basics and what works best for you.
Prepare your own food: when we eat out, we are not sure how the food is prepared and while it might look healthy on the menu, most of the time it is not. Cooking your own food allows you to control what it is made with and how much of each ingredient is used.
Be honest: We cannot do the work for you, especially when it comes to what you eat/ drink outside of the gym. You need to be honest when it comes to what you put in your body, it is not beneficial to be pretending to eat right when you are at home secretly eating crap.
Journal: Write down what you eat each day. This helps keep you accountable for what you consuming and mentally it can help you stay away from those not so healthy foods (especially if you are asked to track your food).
Super Size Me…I think not: Controlling the amount of food you eat at any given time is crucial. There is such a thing as overeating, even if you are eating the right foods. In this case more is not better, make sure you control your portions.
Timing Is Everything: Make sure you are eating every 2-3 hours, this helps to keep your metabolism working at optimal speed.
Prepare: Plan your meals for the week ahead, this takes time and organization, but totally worth it in the end.
Peer Pressure: When hanging out with friends and family, do NOT let them pressure into that DRINK or BAKED GOOD. Try to reach for diet cola or fruits and veggies.
Read: Read the nutrition labels on your food!
High Quality H2O: Water should be your new best friend, it should be a replacement for the sodas and similar beverages that you consume. Not only is it good for your recovery but drinking water can ward off hunger.
Cardio SUCKS: We all hate cardio but it is a necessity in most cases. Try doing something that you enjoy, like going on a walk or even dancing (my personal favorite).
Be Realistic: Set realistic goals for yourself, both short term and long term.
Bob and Weave: change up your workouts, it gets boring when you do the same thing week in and week out. Spice it up a bit.
Who has Fun: HAVE FUN!
