Over the years watching so much happen in this clients life is amazing. The highs and lows, the friendship some of us trainers have developed with him and the life changing transformation. I’m proud of Greg, I’ve seen him battle this for several years and at times he would drive me crazy because it took FOREVER to get him to dial his nutrition in.But every minute was worth it.
Fast forward to the past few years….He’s doing some great things, we even play on the same basketball team Sunday nights. His whole outlook on life has changed since he’s transformed, and it’s all for the better.
Here’s Greg, sharing his story. I’m proud of you Greg, all those years of putting in work and being consistent are now paying off. He’s now doing triathlons and training for a half Ironman in October!
Before I found No Limit i was 290lbs. Eating junk food everyday and drinking 2-3 times a week. Yes life was simple and easy, but there wasn’t happiness. The only gratification in life that I was gaining was through food. I began trying to lose weight on my own; eating healthier, going to the gym a few times a week. But beginning this journey on my own was something I realized could not be done. The weight wasn’t coming off like I wanted it too. I was still feeling tired and lazy everyday. No true happiness yet. I was self- conscious everywhere I went. Always wearing dark and baggy clothes.
The time came to where I realized I needed someone to push me and keep me accountable. At first I was very hesitant about going to someone who I knew nothing about. Fortunately I made the decision to have a consultation. I’ll never forget, Sako and I were sitting in the corner of a thousand sq.ft. gym on workout equipment. None of that seemed to matter to him. He didn’t need a huge gym with brand new expensive workout equipment to help me reach my goals. Im sure anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Sako can attest to his character and that he really does care and this is not just a paycheck to him. I made my decision to come to no limit off of Sako’s character and how driven he was.
From day one it has been a family experience. I’ve made numerous friendships from my time spent at No Limit. When people enjoy going to the gym and it’s a high ight of the day, you know you’ve done something right. The atmosphere at no limit is like non other that I have encountered in the fitness world. We all look at the trainers at NL as friends. The guys at NL covered every aspect of my physical transformation, and even emotional too. Diet plans were written up, goals were made, even consequences for those goals if they were not reached. Their plan is to make you succeed and never give up. If you fail, they fail, and that is something they will not except.
The first step was of course the hardest. That first month of pure pain every time I walked in the gym. My indulging in food was not easy! Who doesn’t love some pizza and hot wings? Getting up and going to the gym almost every day was not an easy routine to get in too. Coming home from school or work and just wanting to sit on the couch seemed like the easier and more fulfilling choice to make at the time. But I do not even think that I am able to put in to words how happy I am and what a positive response this has had on my life. Every day I’m excited to wake up and be the new me. Its almost like a second chance at life. Yes the journey was long and almost never easy, but the end result has made every ounce of sweat more than worth
If I can do it anyone can. I was 290lbs. That’s 10 lbs from weighing 300lbs! 6 feet tall, really not any muscle. Looking in the mirror was the low point of my day. Putting in all that work and coming to where I am now has transformed my life in every aspect. I now walk around between 175-180 lbs and have abs! Is it worth it to not struggle and fight for a few years than to be unhappy for the rest of your life? I believe we all know the answer to that one. This is not a short term transformation, it wont be easy, but the end result is a better life than you could ever imagine.
