I have always been someone who enjoys working out. I started while in college and simply carried my exercise habits over as I aged. For years I spent 3-5 days a week at a private gym taking spin classes and circuit training and, at 40, I was in the best shape of my “adult” life. Then at 41, I had my first child and from that point on, I just couldn’t get back on track. It wasn’t for lack of trying; it was because I didn’t try ENOUGH.
My biggest hurdle has always been my diet. For many years I didn’t have to watch what I ate so fad diets never came into play. My second child came when I was 43 and the heaviest I’d ever been. Now, with two kids and no commitment to my diet, I found it much easier to share in the chicken sticks and rice with an occasional Mac n’ Cheese side………don’t forget the cookies!
As time went on, I continued to exercise but stayed true to my mantra “I work out to maintain my eating habits.” Still at the private gym, I enjoyed the comfort of familiar faces without the intimidation factor of your commercial gym. Unfortunately, the owner had taken ill and the camaraderie of my normal crew started to waiver. It was at that time that another girlfriend said she was looking for a place to workout and asked if I would join her. We tried “another” boot camp location in Yorba Linda but found that to be very rushed and impersonal.
“Then, one day, my husband came across a Groupon for No Limit.”
Then, one day, my husband came across a Groupon for No Limit. Not having been in a big gym for nearly 15 years, I was a little intimidated to start. I checked out the website and was concerned it would be one of those hard core Crossfit joints. I’d heard all the nightmare stories and wanted nothing to do with killing myself over a chin up bar. However, my friend and I went and I never looked back.
Sako and his team are amazing. They make you feel right at home from the very start and take the time to get to know you. They take a personal interest in your progress and are there to encourage, guide and support you in your fitness goals. Their collective knowledge base is remarkable and the product they provide, you simply can’t beat. They consistently look for ways to keep classes and workouts fresh and challenging all while making sure everyone is having a good time.

Recently they put on a Fat Loss Challenge for all members who wanted to participate. I have to admit, I was a bit terrified to start, especially knowing it would be a significant lifestyle change for me; however, I am SO HAPPY I did it. The meal plans were easy and, with the exception of a few treats I still love, I don’t feel I’m missing out on anything. I have more energy and I can see my body transforming. Not to mention, I am now at the weight I was BEFORE KIDS! It was the kick start I needed.
So, if you’re looking for a place to exercise that has a vested interest in your well-being, No Limit is the place for you. There you’re not just a number or head count, you are a person; someone who matters and whose opinion matters. There are magical motivating powers in that building and I encourage everyone to be a part of the No Limit Family.
