“Before kids I never worked out. I hated it.”
Before kids I never worked out. I hated it. I thought I didn’t need to. I was that girl that everyone hated because I didn’t have to work out. In reality, I was incredibly unhealthy, skinny-fat, and had terrible eating habits. I worked a lot and constantly forgot to eat. After kids I realized I had to do something. Not only for my body but for my mind. After my first set of twins I struggled with Post Partum Depression and really turned to food for comfort, and I was tired all the time. I hated that I couldn’t keep up with my kids. I became obsessed with working out but barely saw changes. I signed up with a trainer for a year at a chain gym and thought that would be my answer. I thought the accountability would help me. But my trainer didn’t care, outside of my 25 minute workout twice a week, there was no accountability as promised.
“Even the one week trial I did, I knew it was the place for me!”
I watched a friends transformation at No Limit. As my commitment with my trainer was coming to an end I decided to try it out and I LOVED IT. Halfway through we decided to have more kids so I didn’t even finish the trial. I continued to workout through my pregnancy on my own but I stalked No Limit on social media just waiting for the day I could come back! Even the one week trial I did, I knew it was the place for me!
“I’ve made so many friends & I love being surrounded by good people with common goals!”
It takes me a while to warm up to new situations but everyone was still so friendly and welcoming. Every workout kicks my ass & even as I’ve gotten stronger they still push me. I’ve learned to see fitness in a new light. I’ve made so many friends & I love being surrounded by good people with common goals! No matter where you start off, everyone is genuinely happy for every little accomplishment.
“Once I stayed committed to eating healthy, CONSISTENTLY the weight started coming off.”
I knew all along my nutrition was my biggest hurdle, but I continued to rely on food to cope with the struggles of raising twins. I’m one of those weirdos that LOVE working out so getting to the gym was never a problem for me. Once I stayed committed to eating healthy, CONSISTENTLY the weight started coming off. Although I didn’t have anyone to hold me accountable specifically, once I started seeing changes it helped me stay on track. I would see a huge difference in my workouts on the rare occasions I would cheat, so it kept me wanting to eat healthy because it made the workouts more bearable. I even stopped craving my nightly glass of wine and I actually only drink on special occasions now.
“I have to say starting almost every day off with a workout, really sets the tone for a good day.”
Having two sets of young twins is HARD! Being a mom is HARD! But I have to say starting almost every day off with a workout, really sets the tone for a good day. Being able to keep up with my kids & having more energy to play with them is priceless. The best feeling of all is knowing I’m setting a good example for them. If I can do it, with all that I have on my plate, anyone can!
