For the majority of my life, I’ve lived an active lifestyle, however through the years my weight has definitely fluctuated. I’ve always worked hard and played hard. I ate “ok” and exercised regularly. Then I had two kids. I was always tired and didn’t have time to work out.
I was busy managing my full time job and too busy with my everyday life with my family to work on “me”. I never ate really “bad”, but I didn’t eat healthy either. My portion sizes were off and I love (still love) adult beverages. I would look in the mirror and think I need and want to change, but I didn’t know where to start.
I would often see a friend “check in” on FB to No Limit. We didn’t talk much, but I thought, she goes often, I should check this place out. For about two weeks, I said, “I will go tomorrow.” Then tomorrow came and because I hardly slept, I gave myself the excuse I’m too tired to work out. Finally I told my girlfriend I was going and I knew she would hold me accountable if I didn’t go. I had no choice but to go!
My first day, I thought I was going to pass out, but it was a good feeling, I liked it! After one week I felt like I got run over by a truck. I was so sore, but in a good way. I was instantly hooked. I’m older and have several significant injuries, however I’m still able to work out with some modifications.
I now understand the name behind the “No Limit Family.” Everybody there is so nice. I’ve made several friends. All the trainers go above and beyond to helping us all reach our fullest individual health goals. I have one unusual limitation that many have not heard of and I casually mentioned to Jeff thinking that would be the end of it. The very next day, he gave me specific suggestions/modifications specifically for me, and I didn’t even ask for any! Most importantly Jeff gave me hope!!!
My biggest motivation to get healthier is myself. I turned 40 this year and wanted to work on “me.” My biggest challenge in this journey is alcohol and carbs. I’m Mexican and love my rice, tortillas and I love all forms of adult beverages!
I keep myself on track by knowing “it’s not worth it.” I am very conscious of my portion size and try and limit myself to 2 drinks.
I’m 7 months into my new fitness journey and I can honestly say that I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m old and have injuries, but I feel great! I was a runner for a few years and for several years I did tae-bo and even had a personal trainer. I am now 40, have 2 kids, and several injuries. However, for the first time in my life I can honestly say, and mean, “I like by body.” I feel better, I look better, I’m sleeping better and have more energy with my family.
At the end of the day I’m most proud of my mental health. Thanks to the No Limit Family, I’m 40 and feel Fabulous. By NO means is my body perfect, and due to some injuries I will never have, the perfect body, but I have the perfect body for Grace Gordon and I’m ok with it for the first time in my life. In fact I feel GOOD. And as Sako says, “It feels good to feel good!”
I am addicted to my new lifestyle. If you’re thinking about joining No limit, do it! If I can do it, you can do it! Si se Puede!!
