Testimonial'S ARCHIVE

  • I was putting in work and effort but I also liked to drink and have fun.

I have always been an outgoing person, mindful of my diet and enjoyed working out. I have had a membership to 24-hour fitness since I was 16 and have been through a few different personal training programs with trainers from all styles. Things were always OK, no major transformations or huge milestones, I was basically just maintaining with the occasional ups and downs. I was not unhappy with my fitness level or look but I knew it could always be better. I was putting in work and effort but I also liked to drink and have fun. So I was content with where I was.

In high school, I never played sports and was not very active.  It was not until after I got out of high school that I decided to join a gym.  I did a lot of spinning, aerobics classes, and occasional circuit training.    I was also a big Beach Body junkie.

  • He Dropped 11% Body Fat and Almost 50 lbs!

By sakoyakinian | In Motivational, Testimonial | on July 17, 2017
Dylan shared his story a while back. Ever since then he’s only gotten better.

Here are some facts. Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t!

Day 1-205.8 lbs at almost 22% body fat
    Current-159 lbs at 10.2 % body fat

He couldn’t do 1 chin up or 1 pull-up on his own. Barely squatted 95 lbs for 6 reps. His bench press was just the bar.
HERE’S WHAT HE IS CURRENTLY DOING
    Squat: 95# 3×6 / 235# 5×6
    Bench Press: Bar Only 3×10 / 145# 5×6
Pull Ups: None unassisted started with the lat pull down / Unassisted 5×8
Chin Ups: None Unassisted started with pull downs / Weighted 10# 4×10
Another great example of someone who trusts the process has discipline and is consistent. We’re proud of you Dylan, I know this is just beginning.
Here’s what Dylan shared with us recently about his transformation…
Most of my life I was self-conscious of the way I looked and I knew if I didn’t do something that would never change. The environment at No Limit was the biggest factor in me sticking with it. Everyone was so nice and I never felt intimidated or out of place.
If I had to give someone advice I would say trust the process. This wasn’t a quick fix, it was a lifestyle change. It’s very easy (I’m guilty of it) to let others get in your head about what you should be doing and how fast you should be doing it. Listen to your trainer and your body, and the results will come!
Also, track your food! It makes all the difference.

  • There’s No Secret to Success

By sakoyakinian | In Motivational, Testimonial | on July 10, 2017

I’ve never had a problem making time for the gym although in the last year or so it seems I was just going through the motions. I had even stopped wearing my FitbitL. My biggest challenge was my eating habits.

After my 3rd child was born I had stubborn pounds that I wasn’t able to lose but after I started to train with Richard he was always motivating me.

He taught me how to stay consistent and pushed me to my limits. He also taught me to make healthy choices and eat in moderation. I immediately started seeing a difference in my weight. I lost 20 pounds and I am healthier and have more energy than before. I’ve also started doing the boot camps and have become addicted to the midday workouts 2-3 times a week on top of my training.

  • Richard Shares His Fitness Journey

Like many that now make exercise, good diet, and fitness part of their everyday life, I grew up a bit chubby and overweight. I had played sports in high school, but the steady march of the pounds culminated in college with me weighing in at just over 200 pounds.

Before I joined No Limit, I did a lot of random group training classes at different gyms throughout Orange County on ClassPass. For the most part, I thought I lived a pretty healthy lifestyle and was in good shape, but I realized I had no progress.

“I dreaded going to the gym because it was the same thing over and over.”

Before No limit, I had to come up with a workout routine for myself. I would try to find workouts online and it just became repetitive and uninspired. I dreaded going to the gym because it was the same thing over and over. I wasted a lot of time waiting for equipment and machines to be open. It became very boring very quickly.

“Growing up and through my early 20’s, I was always naturally “skinny”.”

Growing up and through my early 20’s, I was always naturally “skinny”. I could eat whatever I wanted and it never affected me. I would work out on and off as I pleased, but was never consistent. My sister has worked out for as long as I can recall, and I remember making fun of her for doing it so much, as I never thought she really “needed to”. I would go to the gym off and on as I pleased and would work out to Beach Body videos at home, very inconsistently. Fast forward to 2011 when I had my first child. The weight came off quickly, but I was weak and had very little muscle. Finally in 2012, a friend asked me to go to No Limit with her on a Groupon deal. I’m a teacher, so I wasn’t excited about the idea of working out at 5:30am in order to be ready for the work day. But, I liked the idea of working out, and my LA fitness pass was clearly going to waste as I only went and used the elliptical maybe 2 times a week, so I decided to suck it up and go.

“I’m 34 years old and I’m proud to say that I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to No Limit!”

Before coming to No Limit, I was bored with my workouts, unmotivated to consistently eat clean, and I was extremely tired. Most weekdays, I would come home from work and literally go straight to bed. Life was stressful and I was tired of being tired all the time. I needed energy and I needed to feel good again. I realized the only way I was going to be able to achieve my personal and career goals was to make the lifestyle change and get healthy!

“I’ve belonged to a gym for over 25 years and always loved to workout”

I am a 53 yr. old mom and retired Dental Hygienist.  I’ve belonged to a gym for over 25 years and always loved to work out.  A few yrs. ago, I developed Carpel Tunnel Syndrome which meant I had to retire from my profession and have 4 surgeries on my wrists and elbows. At the time, I belonged to another “Chain Gym” and I continued to work out as best I could.  I had a trainer at this gym, Alex Meza who worked with me and around my injuries.  I trained with Alex at this gym for over two years and kept in shape considering all the surgeries I had.  When my trainer moved to No Limit soon after and I knew I wanted to follow him.  I’ve been at No limit now for about 6 months and I have seen a drastic change.

Before No Limit I had no workout routine at all.   Walking my dog was it .  I didn’t like to workout so I didn’t. I also have a sedentary job which is not a good thing.  I actually have joined gyms and have never gone.  I never had a weight problem growing up but was a softball player so I was always active.  I was eating (and still do)  eat too much food and portions that are larger than necessary .
